Think It Into Reality
Have you ever seen a Olympic athlete preparing to run a race? The look of complete focus and attention is almost palpable. Do you believe they are imagining what they’ll eat for dinner, or the laundry pile at home? Absolutely not. While preparing for a race they are holding images in their minds eye about running their ideal race. Running at their ultimate pace, when they’ll pass their competitors and ultimately winning the race. What you think about, you bring about.
It’s a universal truth that we are all energy, we all vibrate at a certain level. Hold an image in your mind, and you resonate at a level in alignment with your goals and dreams. How do you want to design your life? Do you want to travel? Do you want to drive a new car this year? Own your own business? On a cellular level, you can actually change your thoughts, and open yourself up to a new life! This is not a new age zen hoax, or something out of the ether. It may sound bazaar… but it is real and true. You can bring about the life you want, think about / bring about.
Do you want more love in your life? Do you want closer family relationships? Want more money? It is ALL possible.
Here’s a practice you can start doing today. Start with a pen and paper, with gratitude in your heart and a peaceful mind - write down (in present tense) what your ideal day would be like. Write down how you’d wake up, what your bathroom looks like, is there someone helping get the kids ready for school? Write down your ideal day in as much detail as possible in as great of length as possible and peacefully put it away. Before you go to bed at night, think of five things you’re grateful for. Look in the mirror and say “I Love You” deeply looking yourself in the eye. This is a daily practice that will help move you toward your goals. Remember to quickly strike down any negative thoughts, and replace them with positive thoughts with emotion behind them. So as you hold an image in your mind, feel the joy! If it’s a new car: feel the smooth leather seating, smell the ‘new car’ smell and most importantly feel the joy of having this new item in your life. Give thanks and appreciate all the love and joy in your life.
I read a story yesterday of a guy that wanted to approach this same goal from a different angle. From the notion that he could become his best self, by emulating his best self. Do the work as a method actor prepares for a new role – become the person he wants to be. Now that doesn’t mean going out and buying a new sports car and acquiring debt he couldn’t handle at present. What it does mean is, if he wants to become a certain type of person, he should start living like this person. If the person drank tea every morning, he should take to drinking tea. Become the person you want to be, by investing your time and energy focusing on the things that would make that person great! Study hard, do passion projects and imagine your life as you dream it to be. Spend some time every day thinking about how your life will be – in present tense, and give thanks and appreciation for those that help you along your path.
Do this practice for a month, and watch your life change. If it’s a new career you’re after, focus on the career you want, hold the image in your mind and give thanks and it’s important to feel the joy in reaching the goal. If you are missing some education you need to reach your goal, set a firm and realistic deadline for completing the coursework. Anything your mind can envision, you can create… What you think about, you bring about. It’s true. Try it for a month and see where you’re at. If you take these practices to heart you can move beyond where you are, to the place your mind has envisioned your life!
