Ford Focus RS concept leaked?
Following the release of a pair of official teaser images for the European Focus RS last month comes new shots that are alleged to be official images of a near-production concept scheduled to be revealed at this month’s London Motor Show. As expected the latest RS model will feature a new kinetic designed front end with an aggressively styled bumper and a pair of bonnet vents.
The new vents are needed to feed cool air to a specially developed turbocharged version of the Duratec 2.5L engine from the Focus ST. Power has boosted to over 280hp (208kW) and torque rises to 302lb-ft (410Nm). This ensures that the upcoming car will be the fastest Focus model ever produced, although its FWD powertrain may be too much for some to handle. The 0-100km/h acceleration time is expected to fall under six seconds.
As well as the extra power, the Focus RS is also receives a special semi-active Quaife limited-slip differential between the front wheels, 19in wheels, upgraded springs, dampers and anti-roll bars. Although the concept will be revealed in just a matter of weeks, full details about the final version won’t be released until closer to the vehicle’s production launch early next year.
Reminds me of an update 1988 VW Scirocco, remember it?
