Three Car of the Year Awards for GM - Thailand
Cheverolet Collect Three ‘Car of the Year 2008′ Awards
Bangkok - A total of three Chevrolet models — Colorado, Captiva SUV and Optra CNG — have been recognized as Car of the Year 2008 by automotive publisher Grand Prix International. This marks the first time in Chevrolet’s 8-year history in Thailand that three vehicles have been singled out for this award in the same year.
Chevrolet proved once again its ability to deliver expressive design, spirited performance and great value by capturing the coveted Car of The Year 2008 award for three of its models, each determined to be a leader in its respective class. The Colorado 3.0L, Z71 CTi Maxx was considered the best performing 4×4 pickup truck, the Captiva 2.0L was judged to be the best diesel SUV and the Optra CNG the most eco-friendly sedan and the best value for money.
“These awards illustrate the fact that Chevrolet’s product range offers Thai customers some of the best vehicles money can buy,” remarked Steve Carlisle, President of General Motors Southeast Asia Operations and Chevrolet Sales (Thailand). “The robust Colorado is built for durability while the Captiva SUV offers top performance with fuel economy and the Optra CNG sedan provides versatility and comfort with the added benefit of advanced compressed natural gas technology. We are proud and honored to receive these awards and will continue to provide our Thai customers with top class vehicles of the quality and economic value that they have come to expect from Chevrolet.”
The Car of The Year awards are presented annually by the publishing and automotive marketing group Grand Prix International to support the development of the Thai automotive industry. The judges assess vehicles against a range of features including design, comfort, fuel economy, handling, performance, eco-friendliness, customer satisfaction and value for money and their findings are published regularly to help prospective purchasers decide which vehicle is best suited to their requirements. The Car of The Year awards are presented to those vehicles judged to be the ‘best of the best’.
